At 21 Saladaeng is also known by "Saladaeng Colonnade". Location-wise, it's close to the mall, local street services and local street food. A food market is literally a stone's throw away opposite the hotel, and the parent road Soi Silom and parallel street Soi Convent are flanked with local street food stalls, restaurants and services. The overhead BTS and underground MRT are less than 10 mins walk away. The hotel does not serve breakfast, but higher end international breakfast at prices offered at Baan Dusit Thani, opposite the hotel. Alternatively, there is a local food market literally a stone throw away. A little dated, but still relatively well maintained because of its internal colonial look and feel. For the price paid for my Executive one bedder, the hotel should at least keep up to times, e.g., the hotel should at least offer a good in-room coffee machine like Nespresso, and English and Chinese/Japanese tea bags, instead of cheap Nescafe instant coffee granules, Coffeemate, sugar, and Lipton or Boh tea bags. This is no longer the 1980s. My room has a kitchenette, but a little dated. Mould marks here and there. Bed in a separate bedroom was relatively comfortable. However, the pillows were not. Bedroom windows open up to the inner courtyard, and any one who walks past could peer in. The water pressure was a little low even though I was on the 2nd floor. The water was not as hot as I would like to be even on max, but it was good enough for showers. Unlike most hotels these days, whether you need your room tidied or cleaned, or instruct the chambermaid not to disturb, at this hotel, you need to put the door tag out. Regardless, no one came to tidy my room even after I put the tag out for 2 different days. The chambermaid only came after I had alerted the Receptionist, also twice. Small gym and swimming pool--relatively unused. A high end Italian restaurant Zanotti sits by the hotel, which I believe is part of the...

The hotel is really comfortable, with some genuine retro vibes. The service was impeccable, as was the standard of cleanliness. The room we booked was enormous. What it lacked in contemporary styling, it more than made up for size. No real views to speak of, but lots of natural light, and a clear view of the sky out the windows. It was incredibly comfortable, and was equipped with everything we needed for an 8 night stay in Bangkok. Both bathrooms featured separate bathtubs and showers, and although we didn't use the fully-equipped kitchen for cooking we did appreciate the full size fridge. I'm a light sleeper, and this is something I worry about when travelling. But this wasn't an issue - I found the room to be very quiet, without compromising easy access to an exciting neighbourhood. I found the location to be excellent. A short walk to the bustling restaurants, bars and markets of Silom (with plenty of those along the way - including a couple with multiple Michelin mentions). Also a short walk to Lumphini Park, which was great for morning wanders. Across the road is a local food market which is busy every weekday, and there are more than 10 places to get good coffee within a 5 minute walk. For public transport, the Saladaeng BTS stop (elevated) and the Si Lom metro stop (underground) are each within 5 minutes walk. Probably less.

After spending several night at this hotel (2bedroom suite), I can confidently say we absolutely loved our stay! The rooms are tidy and spacious, equipped with a microwave, kitchen and everything you need. The beds were a whole lot more comfortable than expected! The bathrooms were excellent as well. Shower and bath were perfect. Only negative point I can think of is that the closet in our main bedroom smelled a bit off. That’s it, everything else was great. The gym is not too big, but sufficient. The pool is definitely large enough and I loved that it was in the shade: perfect for cooling off after a sunny day. (I loved the water temperature, but I can understand some may find it a bit too chilly) Location is great, close by many, many restaurants, two shopping malls, train station and of course Lumphini Park. Hotel staff is amazing as well, professional, attentive and helpful. Baby coth was already fully setup on arrival. The complimentary water bottles were also highly appreciated.

The location is amazing. Close to both Si Lom MRT and Sala Daeng BTS train stations (within 5-8min walk to either) and plenty of food options including nightly street food and restaurants/ cafes, and massage parlours. We had two family suites and one had quite hard main bed but one was ok, the hotel straight away brought us a mattress topper no problems at all. The pool is clean and so beautiful, sauna and gym also well kept. There is also on site laundry facility costs about 50 THB coins per load of washing, bring your own soap. It’s like a step back in time looks antique furnishings but nice and clean. The rooms are like the photos and family suites are very large for Bangkok with full kitchen facilities. The staff are very nice and helpful, quick to respond to any issues and the rooms have a daily turn down service. Loved our stay and would come back.

1. The hotel room, the executive suite, is excellent as it’s big and quiet! Air con is quiet enough which is an extra bonus but it’s also very powerful so beware not to set it higher than 22°C. 2. The housekeeper/cleaners are so discreet as they never come in while we’re in the room for cleaning and we never hear them cleaning/moving around in other rooms. We only see them working when we get out of our room. 3. The smart tv lost connection to Wi-Fi which was fine the previous day. After informing the reception in person (as the phone is for outside calls), the tv was re-connected by an engineer and a code was given in case it plays up again. Very happy! 4. Behind the sliding door next to the kitchenette, there’re umbrellas! It’s a must to shield yourselves for trips like the Royal Palace.
